Freequency

The smart hearing aid

Freequency is hearing protection with an integrated hearing aid, customized for the user. It provides linear noise attenuation, allowing people, such as factory workers, to stay in noisy environments without harm. The app enables users to adjust the hearing aid to specific frequencies so important signals like alarms or voices can be heard.

The Problem

Noise is a frequent stress factor with long-term negative impacts, leading to concentration and sleep disorders, headaches, and chronic illnesses. Many noisy environments, such as factories, traffic, or even a partner's snoring, are unavoidable in daily life. Linear noise protection is often impractical in these scenarios because users need to communicate, hear alarms, or fire signals. This leads to many people not wearing their hearing protection and being exposed to harmful noise levels.

The Solution

Freequency provides the perfect solution. After customizing the hearing protection at the audiologist, users simply connect it to the app and start the noise analysis in the critical environment. The earplugs attenuate noise linearly, protecting the eardrum. Users can record specific frequencies in the app and add them digitally through the integrated hearing aid. The specific frequency can be finely adjusted, even distinguishing between high and low voice pitches. Users can block out a partner's snoring while still hearing a baby's cry. Factory workers are protected from machine noise but can still hear colleagues' warnings.

The technology is able to detect minimal frequency differences and switch them on individually.
